Textured Surfaces

Lesson One Chapters 1 - 4

In this first lesson we will show you how to create a selection of textured surfaces in preparation for adding colour. We will be using fabrics, canvas, molding paste, threads, Tyvek, wallpaper and scrim amongst other materials.

This lesson consists of four separate chapters each giving a detailed explanation of a different technique.

Lesson Three Chapters 9 - 10

And finally, the third lesson has ideas for adding stitch to your surfaces and mounting your samples along with a few more ideas for creating texture.

In this lesson there will also be projects and ideas on how to use some of the textures you have created, including a journal and portfolio to keep your samples and notes for future reference.

At the end of this workshop you will have a wide range of samples using different methods and materials which will enable you to build an extensive portfolio of techniques to help you in your creative endeavours.

This is a technique based workshop and these techniques are for your experimentation derived from our own experiences. Our intention is for them to be a starting point for you to produce unique work of your own.
