You will need a username and password to access the lessons. Lesson One In this first lesson we will show you how to create a selection of textured surfaces in preparation for adding colour. We will be using fabrics, canvas, molding paste, threads, Tyvek, wallpaper and scrim amongst other materials. This lesson consists of four separate chapters each giving a detailed explanation of a different technique. Chapter One: Textured Surfaces using Molding Paste Chapter Two: Textured Surfaces using Patterned Wallpaper and Gauze Chapter Three: Textured Surfaces using Couched Threads Chapter Four: Textured Surfaces using Tyvek Lesson Two You will learn how to build on from Lesson One by adding layers of colour using acrylics, inks, dyes and other colouring mediums. This lesson also consists of four chapters - each linking to the techniques from Lesson One and including several ideas for projects using those techniques. Chapter Five: Colouring the Surface Chapter Six: Combining Techniques Chapter Seven: Adding Colour to Couched Thread Surfaces Chapter Eight: More Experiments with Tyvek Lesson Three And finally, the third lesson has ideas for adding stitch to your surfaces and mounting your samples along with a few more ideas for creating texture. In this lesson there will also be projects and ideas on how to use some of the textures you have created, including a journal and portfolio to keep your samples and notes for future reference. Chapter Nine: Storing and Displaying your Samples and Notes Chapter Ten: Taking it Further At the end of this workshop you will have a wide range of samples using different methods and materials which will enable you to build an extensive portfolio of techniques to help you in your creative endeavours. This is a technique based workshop and these techniques are for your experimentation derived from our own experiences.
